As chunky as it looks, the Corsair Raptor HS40 isn't heavy and is very comfortable to wear for long periods and the sound reproduction is top notch. The quality of the sound come from the pair of 40mm Neodymium drivers and the closed back, circumaural design.
The headset also sports a noise cancelling microphone on a rubberized flexible boom which can be positioned to your desire and flipped up against the side when not in use.
Other top quality features include 7.1 surround sound for that ultimate gaming experience, deep padded ear cups and headband for superb comfort during long periods of gaming, or maybe listening to music while you're creating some new graphics for your Twitch or YouTube channels and a super long, 2.7 meter cable finished with a standard USB connector.
I've used my Raptor HS40's every day since I bought them and so far they have yet to let me down. I simply cannot fault them whatsoever, other than that after a while, your ears do start getting a bit hot, but I would say that this is a similar story with any over-ear design headset, so I can't really call it a fault.
The Corsair Raptor HS40 Gaming Headset may not be the cheapest on the market, but for the price you do get them for, they make excellent value for money. They are superbly comfortable and not as heavy as they appear. And the sound reproduction, with it's 7.1 surround sound feature is top notch.
- Comfort - well padded ear ear cups and head band as well as being lighter than they look provide for user comfort for long periods of gaming.
- Price - For the quality, you won't find a better gaming headset for both sound quality and comfort.
- Cable Length - at 2.7 meter is plenty long enough and more if your PC is not right next to your gaming station.
- Although something you are likely to get with any over-ear gaming headset, your ears do get a bit hot after a while.
