To all intents and purposes, the Speedlink XEOX Pro Analogue Gamepad is intrinsically an Xbox360 gamepad, designed for use on the PC. The buttons, triggers, bumpers, thumb sticks and D-pad are all in the same comfortable layout, which made the Xbox360 game pad so popular with PC gamers. What sets the Speedlink XEOX apart though is 1, the price and 2, the cosmetics look and feel.
The Speedlink XEOX comes in at at well under £20 and like the Xbox360 controller is available in wired or wireless. The one we're looking at here is the wired version, as that's what I prefer to use.
The controller is rubber coated and has a very comfortable, satin feel and in the 6 months of use in games like Bioshock 1, 2 and Infinate and Ride as well as some testing on F1 2010 and 2011, shows absolutely no sign of wear.
The thumb sticks also show no wear and have good grip. I've seen a few comments about the D-pad saying it feels cheap and a little lacking in feel, but I personally don't find that myself. The gamepad also has force vibration and a 1.9 meter wire finished with a standard USB connector. It also has a switchable Rapid-Fires button (a small switch located on the underside of the pad).
All-in-all, the Speedlink XEOX Pro Analogue Gamepad is a fantastic value for money alternative to an Xbox360 pad for PC gaming. It's compatible with all windows games, comfortable and reliable.
- Price - Excellent value for money
- Comfortable - Basically an Xbox360 gamepad in a new suit
- Cable length - At 1.9m it's good for armchair gaming although the pad is aimed at pro gamers
- Not really find any.
